This project involved converting a home that had been divided into three units back into a family home and restoring some original features such as Federation skirting boards and architraves with beautiful large rooms converted to an open plan living space around a central kitchen. High on the agenda on the design brief was practicality and functionality with ease of use of all areas of kitchen and lots of storage with numerous drawers allowing for ergonomic access and lots of preparation bench space. The kitchen design includes an appliance cabinet to hide away small appliances when not in use, storage incorporated for cook books and a hidden microwave nook. This kitchen features an island bench in Caesarstone Snow with all cabinetry in satin finish satin polyurethane in Dulux Whisper White. Good task lighting was essential with downlights under the wall cabinetry and task spot lights over the island bench.
